Dear Mr. Torlakson:
Enclosed is a petition signed by a majority of Housing Authority employees re-
stating their position regarding canparable worth in the Housing Authority.
We are Once again urging this board to reconsider its position regarding ccm-
parable worth in the Housing Authority-and close the wage gap. -
I have stated on numerous occasions Local No. 1 has identified the wage gap
in the Housing Authority between female..and male daninated classifications to
be approximately 18%. Eliminating this wage gap would cost the Housing Authority
approximately $90 Thousand Dollars.
It remains our position that this board should immediately close the wage gap in
the Housing Authority by granting the 18% increase to the female daninated classi-
fications in the Housing .Authority.
If you have any questions regarding our position please do not hesitate to con-
tact me.
Sincerely,
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES UNION, LOCAL NO. 1
