THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on September 25 , 1984 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden , Torlakson , Schroder .
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Supervisor rlcPeak .
ABSTAIN: None .
SUBJECT: PARTICIPATION IN THE 1985 FRANCHISE TAX RESOLUTION NO.84/581
BOARD INTERAGENCY OFFSET PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the California Government Code Section 12419.8 authorizes the
County to intercept State income tax refunds to pay debts owed County Government
covered by a judgment or court order; and
WHEREAS, the County successfully participated in the 1984 program,
collecting over $9,000 in bad debts; and
WHEREAS, the Probation Department and Central Collections have delinquent
accounts they desire to submit under the 1985 program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that the County of Contra
Costa intends to participate in the 1985 Franchise Tax Board Interagency Offset
Program and that it is certified that the offset requests are for delinquent debts
that are secured by judgments or court orders, and that the County Probation Officer,
Gerald S. Buck, is designated as the authorized person to make requests for service
for this program.
