HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12181984 - IO.5 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: Internal Operations Committee Costa DATE: December 17, 1984 County SUBJECT: Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee Organizational Issues SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS: Amend Resolution 83/1140 by deleting Section F "Committee Membership and Nomination" , and replacing it with the following: "F. COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP AND NOMINATION The Committee, being a policy-making body, shall be appointed in accordance with established Board of Supervisors policy and shall be advised on technical matters by a Technical Advisory Committee also appointed in accordance with established Board policy. 1 . The following will be the membership of the Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee: a. Two representatives from the County Board of Supervisors. b. Five city representatives, including one representative each from west, east, north-central , and south-central County, and one representative who is the cities' representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. c. Six "public members" appointed by the Board of Supervisors upon recommendation by the City-County Screening Committee. The six public members shall include among them one representative each from business, labor, and the residential development community and three ".at-large"representatives. Appointments of the six "public members" shall consider geographical balance. d. There shall be a City-County Selection Committee which shall make binding recommendations for appointment to fill the six public member positions. The City-County Selection Committee shall be composed of the two Board of Supervisor members of the CCTAC and three of the City Council representatives of CCTAC, one each from the east, central and west areas of the County. 2. The Technical Advisory Committee shall be composed of the City/County Engineering Advisory Committee (or subcommittee thereof) and the Contra Costa County Planning Directors (or a subcommittee thereof) ." City/County relations. These issues are becoming resolved by actions of the Board of Supervisors, the County Mayors ' Conference and by CCTAC itself.
