These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County. BACKGROUND: On March 13, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement between the County and Richmond Elementary School, Inc. for the County to provide food services via the Community Services Bureau of Employment & Human Services Department to program eligible children co-enrolled in the California Food Program and the education programs. In order to facilitate the success of this partnership, the Department needs to continue the provision of food services to Richmond Elementary School, Inc. In return, the school will reimburse the County for all food service costs up to the reimbursement that the school receives from the California Child and Adult Food Program.
