"Children Ready for and Succeeding in School," Outcome 3: "Families that are Economically Self-sufficient," and, Outcome 4: "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing." These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low- income children throughout Contra Costa County. BACKGROUND: The California Department of Education contracts with the County to provide Stage 2 CaIWORKs and Alternative Payment Childcare program services to program-eligible families. Approval of these two (2) agreements will allow the Department to operate Stage 2 CaIWORKs and Alternative Childcare services to families who receive Child Protective Services, children at risk of abuse and neglect, children with special needs, low-income families, and current and former California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CaIWORKs) Program participants.
