These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low- income children throughout Contra Costa County. BACKGROUND: The proposed FY 2008-09 agreement between the County and First 5 Contra Costa Children and Families Commission provides the County with $254,070 in funding to administer school readiness services to program eligible children and families in the West Contra Costa school district boundaries. The focus of the program is to provide enrollees with access to quality preschool services, and to establish early childhood and transitional programs so that children may enter kindergarten better prepared for success. The agreement contains a mutual indemnification clause which holds harmless the First Five Commission.
