RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20601, to REALLOCATE the classification of Health Services Systems Director
(VCDF) on the salary schedule from salary level B85 2294 ($10,356-$14,572)eight(8) steps to salary level B85 2442($11,990-
$14,574)five(5) steps, as recommended by the Interim Director of Human Resources.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost associated with this action.
BACKGROUND:
On August 7, 2008 Health Services' requested to reallocate salary range from an eight (8) steps to five (5) steps. The department
proposed to eliminate Steps 1 -3 and merged performance Steps 6—8 into salary range. The department's current incumbent will be
retiring soon. Improving recruitment efforts and allowing the department flexibly to appoint an individual at a higher salary level are the
department's reasons for reallocation of the current salary level.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, the department will be unable to recruit and retain highly skilled candidates. According to the
Department, recruitment for this top-level classification would be extremely difficult due to the pres salary range.
