RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20589, to REALLOCATE the classification of Assistant Health Services Systems
Director—Application Software(LBGE)on the salary schedule from salary level B85 1982($7,604-$10,190)seven (7) steps to salary
level B85 2212 ($9,548-$11,606)five(5) steps, as recommended by the Interim Human Resources Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost associated with this action.
BACKGROUND:
On July 11, 2008 Health Services' was informed by County Administrator's Office that John Cullen, County Administrator had approved
a 5.07% salary increase salary for the classification of Assistant Health Services Systems Director — Application Software. On
August 21, 2008 Human Resources received notification from the County Administrator's Office that John Cullen, County Administrator
was in support of a 14% salary increase for this classification. Health Services' requested to reallocate salary range from a seven (7)
steps to five (5) steps. The department proposed to eliminate Steps 1 -2 and merged performance Steps 6 — 7 into salary range.
Reason for salary increase was to provide some assistance to the department's recruitment efforts.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, the department will be unable to recruit and retain highly skilled candidates. According to the
Department, recruitment has been difficult due to the previously low salary.
