HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09162008 - C.110 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker,M.D.,Health Services Director By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator x' __ ' ;;N'o Costa DATE: August 28, 2008 ° ;; County SUBJECT: Approval of Affiliation(Amendment)Agreements#29-607-11 and#29-607-12 with the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its University of California, Davis ? , I/w) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION of RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith,M.D.),to execute on behalf of the County, Affiliation(Amendment) Agreements, County#29-607-11 (SO4-00059, Al) and#29-607-12 (SO4-00059, A2) with the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its University of California, Davis, to extend the term of the agreement through December 31, 2008, for the Family Practice Residency Network Program. FISCAL IMPACT: This is a non-financial agreement. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On June 15, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved Affiliation Agreement #29-607-9 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #29-607-10) with the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its University of California,Davis, for the period from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007, to provide qualified training and clinical experience at County Health Services facilities for medical students, residents, family nurse practitioners, and other such students enrolled at the University. It was the intent of the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its University of California, Davis and the County to continue to operate its Family Practice Residency Network Program which provides administrative and educational support services to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center's residency program with no break in service,but due to an administrative oversight the extension agreements were not processed in a timely manner. Approval of Affiliation (Amendment) Agreements #29-607-11 and #29-607-12 will allow the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its University of California, Davis to continue to operate the Family Practice Residency Network Program for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center's residency program,through December 31, 2008.
