(Sanitation District 6 Funds)(District II)Project No.: 7365- 6X9E30 DATE: August 5, 2008 PAGE: 2 4 RECOMMENDATION(S): (CON'T) ADOPT Ordinance No. 17; and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to file certified copies of this Board Order, the Final Engineer's Report and Ordinance 17 with the Auditor-Controller in accordance with the provision of Health&Safety Code Section 5473.4; and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to publish Ordinance 17 pursuant to Section 3 of the Ordinance; and DIRECT the Auditor-Controller to levy the annual sewer service charges on the tax roll for Fiscal Year 2008/2009. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact on the County General Fund. Sewer service in Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 6 is funded entirely by annual sewer service charges (100%). BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On July 8,2008,the Board of Supervisors fixed August 5,2008 at 9:30 a.m.,in the Board Chambers,as the time and place for a public hearing on the written report filed by the Public Works Director. All required hearing notices have been given. This assessment continues the same rate that has been in-place since 2005/06. The proposed annual sewer service charges are needed to fund and maintain sewer service within Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 6. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without the Board of Supervisors' approval, the Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 6 would have to reduce or eliminate sewer service or raise the necessary revenue by other means. ORDINANCE NO. 17 BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, AS AND CONSTITUTING THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 6 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE ANNUAL SEWER SERVICE CHARGES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009 IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 6 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, as and constituting the Board of Directors of Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 6, ordains as follows: SECTION 1. ANNUAL UNIT CHARGE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009. For fiscal year 2008/2009, the "annual unit charge"referred to in Section 11 of Ordinance No. 1 is prescribed at $1,950. SECTION 2. COLLECTION ON TAX ROLL. The Board of Directors elects to collect the annual sewer service charge on the Fiscal Year 2008/2009 Assessment Roll. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage and,within 15 days after passage,shall be published once with the names of Supervisors voting for and against it in the Contra Costa Times, a newspaper published in the county.
