BY �� DEPUTY BACKGROUND Continued: Under the supervision of the County Administrator's Office, the GTEA program began centralizing and institutionalizing a coordinated community response and expanded partner collaboration, including the Superior Court. With GTEA funds the County continues to centralize and institutionalize a coordinated community response and add program components. Through this continuation award, the project is: 1) coordinating a comprehensive, countywide law enforcement training program; 2) investigating domestic violence cases and providing follow-up and contact to all victims; 3) enhancing offender accountability by providing intensive supervision of felons convicted of domestic violence; 4) increasing advocacy with a bilingual advocate assisting victims in the prosecution of domestic violence cases, probation hearings, and immigration matters; 5) continuing to provide civil legal representation by assisting victims in submitting protective orders; 6) educating court personnel and improving judicial handling of cases; and 7) providing judges issuing restraining orders with access to prior criminal history of defendants to increase victim safety. The Office of the County Administrator continues to serve as the lead agency and will be responsible for administrative and fiscal oversight of the project. Project partners are: STAND! Against Domestic Violence; Bay Area Legal Aid; Superior Court of California - County of Contra Costa; Contra Costa Department of Probation; Contra Costa Department of the Sheriff; Contra Costa Office of the District Attorney; the City of Antioch Police Department; the City of Richmond Police Department; Applied Survey Research, and Community Violence Solutions.
