HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122008 - C.56 I� TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director ; Costa By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator ; e '" 4s DATE: July 30' 2008 �`�� County count SUBJECT: Approval of Contract#74-333 with Star View Adolescent Center'r Inc. i010 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #74-333 with Star View Adolescent Center, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $182,113, to provide residential day treatment services for the period from April 3, 2008 through June 30, 2009. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through4 December 31, 2009, in an amount not to exceed$62,117. s FISCAL IMPACT: II This Contract is funded 33% Federal Medi-Cal (FFP), 33% State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment(EPSDT), and 34% State Community Treatment Facility(CTF) and Mental Health Realignment. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This EPSDT program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School"; "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides a multi-disciplinary treatment program in a Psychiatric Hospital facility or a locked Community Treatmend Facility (CTF) for minors who need .active psychiatric treatment for acute mental, emotional or behavioral disorders. For a number of years, the County has operated a Community Treatment Facility at their Oak Grove CTF. On January 1, 2008 the CTF program in Concord closed as a locked facility and reopened as a level XIV unlocked group home.
