HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08122008 - C.35 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker,M.D.,Health Services Director By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator Costa DATE: •� �•` July 30, 2008 Ta�a County SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Amendment Agreement#28-764-2 with the State Department of MentaF Health SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand), to execute, on behalf of the County, State Agreement #28-764-2 (07-757307-000, Al) with the State Department of Mental Health, effective April 28, 2008, to extend the term of the agreement from June 30, 2008 through June 30, 2009, with no change in the original payment limit to the County in the amount of $21,568,159. The parties are agreeing to continue to indemnify and hold one another harmless for claims resulting from the indemnifying party's acts or omissions. FISCAL IMPACT: None. There is no change in the original payment limit to the County in the amount of$21,568,159 from the State Department of Mental Health. No County match is required. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On May 15, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved agreement 428-764, the performance contract with the State Department of Mental Health, to receive funding for the CSS program. The County programs monitor the progress of serving citizens' mental health needs. The original term of the performance contract with the State was June 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008. On April 15, 2008, the board approved a new MHSA Agreement #28-764-1, replacing and superceding the existing performance contract. The new Agreement incorporated fiscal years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. During these fiscal years, Contra Costa County Mental Health conducted an extensive planning process with over 1,100 community stakeholders.to prepare the three-year proposal to the State. The State approved the funding and is reimbursing the County for this planned period.
