HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07082008 - C.70 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Costa By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator DATE: County SUBJECT: Approval of Standard (Amendment) Agreement #28-745-2 with the State Department of Housing and Community Development SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMP4ENDATION(S): kwoo07 Los Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee(Wendel Brunner, M.D.) to execute on behalf of the County, Standard (Amendment) Agreement #28-745-2 with the State Department of Housing and Community Development, effective March 6, 2007, to make technical adjustments and to extend the term of the Agreement from December 31, 2007 through March 5, 2010, with no change in the original payment to the County, in an amount not to exceed $930,041 for the County's Homeless Emergency .Housing and Assistance Program (EHAP) Capital Development. In accordance with the terms of the original Agreement. County shall continue to indemnify, defend, and save harmless the State, its officer, agents, and employees from any claims and losses accruing or resulting to any person, firm or corporation in connection with the perfbnnance of this Agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no change in the original amount that resulted in $930,041 of funding from the State Department of I Iousing and Community Development for the EHAP Capital Development. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On January 24, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved submission of.grant application #28-745 for the EHAP Capital Development funds to support the conversion of 2047-D Arnold Industrial Way, Concord, for the Respite Interim Housing and Service Program. On December 19, 2006, the State granted funds 428-745- 1, for the program to provide outreach, short-tenshelter, goal-oriented counseling, and health services to medically i:ragile homeless living on the streets or recently discharged from hospitals. Approval.of Standard Amendment Agreement #28-745-2 will extend the term of the Agreement, allowing the County's Homeless Program to successfully complete the project and continue to provide temporary shelter and an array of supportive services through the multi-service center,through March 5, 2010. Five sealed/certified copies of this Board Order should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the State.
