RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20554: to Establish the classification of CaIWIN Help Desk Supervisor(XQHJ) and
allocate it to salary schedule KZ5-1603 ($5,122-$6,226); Establish the classification of CaIWIN On-Site Support Supervisor(XQHH)
and allocate it to salary schedule KZ5-1579 ($5,002-$6,080); Establish the classification of CaIWIN Help Desk Specialist(XQTE) and
allocate it to salary schedule 255-1458 ($4,437-$5,393); Establish the classification of CalWIN On-Site Support Specialist(XQVD) and
allocate it to salary schedule 255-1409 ($4,227-$5,138); Reclassify position# 12184 and the incumbent to the CaIWIN Help Desk
Supervisor classification; Reclassify position#4224 and the incumbent to the CaIWIN On-Site Support Supervisor classification;
Reclassify eight(8) positions #'s 10923, 10675, 10625, 10668, 6984, 5225, 6989, and 12246 and all incumbents to the CaIWIN Help
Desk Specialist classification; Reclassify seven (7) position#'s 6996, 5120, 4314, 12188, 5168, 5127, and 12251 and all incumbents
to CaIWIN On-Site Support Specialist classification; Re-allocate the salary of Child Welfare Services Case Management Services
(XATA)on the salary schedule from 3R5-1289 ($3,753-$4,562) salary level to$4,227-$5,138) as recommended by the Assistant
County Administrator-Human Resources Director. The effective date for this retroactive pay is January 1, 2008.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in 80%State and Federal funding $45,332 and 20% County cost$11,333.

BACKGROUND:
During the 2006 negotiations the County agreed to conduct a review of the CaIWIN Help Desk. The Human Resource Department
conducted a thorough study by including the staff support functions of all positions assigned to CaIWIN Help Desk, and Site Support
Coordinators. The department also included in the study two supervisors and the Child Welfare Services Case Management Services
classification. The study concluded that four (4) new classifications be established. Additionally, reallocate the salary of similar
classifications of the Child Welfare Services Case Management Services.
After the conclusion of the study, it was agreed that the County establish the above named classifications at the salary level
recommended and to reclassify the incumbents as of January 1, 2008.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, the County will not be implementing the results of the study and the incumbents will be
inappropriately classified.
RETROACTIVE PAY:
Allocate the salary levels as recommended by the reclassification study effective January 1, 2008.
We recommend that the upcoming July 2008 2% Cost Of Living Adjustment(COLA) for these classifications be awarded.
