DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to publish a Notice of Filing of the Preliminary Engineer's Report and Fixing of Public Hearing thereon in accordance with Health and Safety Code 5473.1 and pursuant to Govenunent Code Section 6066. 4. DIRECT SD 6 to immediately make available to the public at the office of the Clerk of the Board and the Public Works Department a copy of the Preliminary Engineer's Report and Ordinance No. 17. FISCAL. IMPACT:. There is no impact on County General Funds. County services to SD 6 are funded entirely by the annual sewer service charges obtained from the users of the sewer system, in accordance with Government Code Section 25210.77a. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: The annual levy of sewer service charges benefits all property owners within SD 6 by providing for a community sewer system (miscellaneous extended service) in accordance with Government Code Section 25210.4(d). SD 6 miscellaneous extended service includes,but is not limited to,the acquisition,constriction,operation,replacement, maintenance, and repair of sewer collection, transportation, and disposal systems, including land, easements and rights-of-way in accordance with Government Code Section 25210.4a(2). CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:. Without the Board of Supervisors' approval, SD 6 will be unable to have the Fiscal Year 2008/2009 sewer service fees collected by the County Tax Collector, and will have to use an alternate method to collect the service fees. ORDINANCE NO. 17 BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, AS AND CONSTITUTING THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 6 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE ANNUAL SEWER SERVICE CHARGES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009 IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 6 The Board of Supervisors of Contra.Costa County, as and constituting the Board of Directors of Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 6, ordains as follows: SECTION 1. ANNUAL UNIT CHARGE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009. For fiscal year 2008/2009, the "annual unit charge" referred to in Section I I of Ordinance No. 1 is prescribed at $1,950.00. SECTION 2. COLLECTION ON TAX ROLL. The Board of Directors elects to collect the annual sewer service charge on the Fiscal Year 2008/2009 Assessment Roll. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage and,within 15 days after passage, shall be published once with the names of Supervisors voting for and against it in the Contra Costa Times,.a newspaper published in the county.
