RECOMMENDATION:
RECEIVE 2007 Annual Report'submitted by the Countywide Bicycle Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND:
On June 18, 2002, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2002/377, which requires that
each regular and ongoing board, commission, or committee shall annually report to the Board of.
Supervisors on its activities, accomplishments, membership attendance, required training/certification
(if any), and proposed work plan or objectives for the following year, on the second Tuesday in
December.
Annual reports shall follow the following format and shall not exceed two typewritten pages:

Contra Costa County Public Works Department office located at 255 Glacier Drive,
Martinez, CA 94553.

ACTIVITIES
i
The Countywide Bicycle Advisory Committee met in December 2006 and is scheduled to
meet on December 11, 2007. In 2006 the committee reviewed 15 Transportation
Development Act funding applications from several local jurisdictions and ithe County.
The Committee provided valuable feedback on each application. The feedback was
provided to each project sponsor prior to final applications being submitted. In 2007,
the Committee will be reviewing 12 Transportation Development Act funding
applications. In addition, the 2007 will involve adopting the Committee Bylaws.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The Committee provided valuable feedback to local jurisdiction to help them make their
final Transportation Development Act funding applications better suit the needs of the
users of pedestrian and bicycle facilities in Contra Costa County.

TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
No training or certifications were conducted in 2006/2007.
WORK PLAN/OBJECTIVES FOR 2008
The mission of the Countywide Bicycle Advisory Committee is to review applications for
the Transportation Development Act funding program administered by the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission (MTC) through the County Public Works Department for
Contra Costa County. Local jurisdictions are required by MTC Resolution 875 to have
their projects reviewed by a Bicycle Advisory Committee. The work plan for 2008 will
involve reviewing the next cycle of applications and provide project sponsors with
feedback on how to make their applications better from a user perspective.
The Committee membership has been completely updated and all vacancies filled.
