HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09182007 - C.43 .cif • TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D.,Health Service By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator Costa DATE: Septelnber 5, 2007 J� t County SUBJECT: Approval of Novation Contract#74-240-4 with Utah Youth Village SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #74-240-4 with Utah Youth Village, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $226,081, to provide day treatment and mental health services for mentally or emotionally disturbed children, for the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. This Contract includes a six=month automatic extension through December 31, 2008, in an amount not to exceed $113,040. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA/SB 90). No County Funds are required. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: H .This SB 90 prograln supports the following Board of Supervisors community outcomes: "Children ready for and succeeding in school"; "Families that are safe, stable, nurturing"; and "Communities that are safe and provide a high quality of life for children and families". The expected outcomes include all goals identified by Children's Statewide System of Care guidelines including increasing and maintaining school attendance as measured by school records; an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS); an increase in family satisfaction - as measured by the Parent Satisfaction Survey; decreased used of acute care system; and placement at discharge to a lower level of care. Contact Person: Donna Wigand 957-5111 ATTESTEDJ!jtt"4A J HN tULLEN, CLERK OF THE OA RD OF CC: Health Services Department (Contracts). =NTY ADMINISTRATOAuditor Controller Contractor BDUTY Board Order Page 2 #74-240-4 BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides Out-of-State Residential Intensive Day Treatment Program and Mental Health Services for mentally or emotionally disturbed children, including Special Education Pupils (SEP), for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) required services at Contractor's Alpine Academy facility. On September 26, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74-240-3 with Utah Youth Village, for the period from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, with a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2007, for the provision of day treatment and mental health services for mentally or emotionally disturbed children. Approval of Novation Contract #74-240-4 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2008.
