FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of$94,139 and will be offset by the elimination of two temporary positions and the remainder will be funded by Health Plan Premium revenue. This action will result in no County cost. BACKGROUND: Currently, the Provider Relations Unit within the Contra Costa Health Plan Division consists of the Director of Credentialing and Provider Relations, one Administrative Services Assistant III, and four clerical positions. Due to a recent reorganization, the Unit has determined that there is a need for a position to provide higher level administrative support and perform in depth administrative analysis which, in turn, will free up the Director and the ASA III to concentrate on providing training and education to providers. The addition of this position will ensure that the Unit is providing efficient and effective services to the providers of the Contra Costa County Health Plan.
