RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20380, Re-titling the Associate Director of Health Services-Exempt (VCS1)
classification to Assistant to the Health Services Director and reallocate the class of Assistant to the Health Services
Director on the salary schedule from salary level B85 2118 ($8,529-$10,367) to salary level B85 1956 ($7,265-$8,831)

FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, there will be a cost savings of$23,680/annually with this action.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting the revision and re-titling of the Associate Director of Health Services-Exempt to
Assistant to the Health Services Director due to a recent reorganization of duties among the Health Services Director's top level
management team. In 2003, Health Services allocated higher level duties such as, program management, policy development, etc. in

addition to the existing administrative/management analysis duties to the Assistant to the Health Services Director- Exempt
classification and appropriately revised and re-titled the classification to Associate Director of Health Services- Exempt. Additionally,
they also reallocated the salary to a higher salary level to compensate for the expansion and complexity of the newly assigned duties.
Due to the recent reorganization of the higher level duties, the Department is now requesting that the classification revert back to the
originally established Assistant to the Health Services Director-Exempt and that the classification be reallocated to the original salary
level.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved,the classification title and salary level will not accurately reflect the duties performed.
