HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08142007 - C.61 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker,M.D., Health Services Director By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator Costa DATE: August 2,2007 ra ;;nr� County SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Extension Agreement#23-187-8 1 with The Abaris Group C 0 (, ( SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION (S)' ` Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Art Lathrop) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Extension Agreement #23-187-8 with The Abaris Group, a non-profit corporation, effective August 1, 2007, to amend Contract #23-187-5 (as amended by Extension Agreement #2.3-187-6 and Amendment Agreement 23-187-7) to extend the term from August 31, 2007 through August 31, 2008 with no change in the original payment limit of$130,000. FISCAL IMPACT: This Amendment is funded 96% by the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Grant and 4% by California Measure H Funds. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): Contra Costa County has been the recipient of Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness, local assistance grants funded, through the California Department of Health Services for the past three years. Funding from these grants is intended to enhance the preparedness of hospitals and community clinics to respond to potential terrorist events and other disasters. Approval of Contract Extension Agreement #23-187-8 will allow the Contractor to provide additional bioterrorism hospital preparedness program services, through August 31, 2008.
