Valentine, Director Costa Employment and Human Services .; O�ST'9 COUI� �� DATE: August 14, 2007 County SUBJECT: Approve and Authorize a contract with Shared Vision Consultants, Inc. �• a SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Approve and Authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Shared Vision Consultants, Inc in an amount not to exceed $50, 025 to provide facilitation and consultation assistance to the Children and Family Service Bureau (CFS) in the completion of the System Improvement Plan (SIP) for the period August 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. FISCAL IMPACT: $50,025 20% County, 40% State, 40% Federal CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School", 2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families," by providing a system for ensuring outcomes are achieved. Counties were required to develop a System Improvement Plan (SIP), which would be the basis for measuring the county's outcomes related to children's safety, permanence, and well-being. CFS requires ongoing consultation and facilitation services to continue the progress made towards implementing the state-required SIP self-assessment, updating our SIP, and completing other AB 636-related activities, projects, and fairness and equity training, as well as other CFS related strategies. Prior consultation and facilitation to CFS to develop a System Improvement Plan (SIP) was provided by California Consulting Inc. Shared Vision Consulting, Inc. was established by the founding partner of California Consulting, Inc. (19-338-0)
