RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.) to
execute on behalf of the County, Contract #22-890-2 with ArtsChange, anon-profit corporation, in
an amount not to exceed $25,818, to provide nutrition education and outreach services for the Food
and Nutrition Project, for the period from September 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 85%by California Nutrition Network and 15%by County.
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides an innovative
approach to educating targeted communities at the Pittsburg and Richmond Health Centers, and at
community workshops, on a variety of culturally-relevant food and nutrition issues.
Under Contract 422-890-2, the Contractor will provide nutrition education and outreach services
for the Food and Nutrition Project, through September 30, 2007.
