LANGO, DIRECTOR OF GENERAL SERVICES COSTA DATE: SEPTEMBER 19, 2006COUNTY .srq-coon;ft SUBJECT: LEASE RENEWAL FOR THE PREMISES AT 150 ALAMO PLAZA, �l SUITES B AND C, ALAMO FOR OCCUPANCY BY THE SHERIFF- CORONER (T00513) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION 1. APPROVE a Lease Renewal with 230 Alamo Plaza LLC, commencing October 1, 2006, and ending September 30, 2011, for 3,000 square feet of office space at 150 Alamo Plaza, Suites B and C, Alamo, for continued occupancy by the Sheriff-Coroner, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in the Lease. 2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to EXECUTE the Lease. FINANCIAL IMPACT Approval of the lease will obligate the County to pay $72,000 in rent for the period from October 1, 2006, through September 30, 2007. Thereafter, the rent will increase by approximately 3% per year for a total lease renewal payment obligation of approximately $390,300 over the five-year lease term. Funding for the current fiscal year rent payment is budgeted in the Sheriff-Coroner's approved FY 2006/2007 budget. BACKGROUND The Sheriff-Coroner has occupied this space since February 1996 as a station house for its patrol activities in the south central county area. Approving the lease renewal will provide for the Sheriff- Coroner's continued occupancy of this space to support law enforcement activities and services to residents in the Alamo area.
