PETER DUNCAN FOR HIS
COMMUNITY SERVICE TO
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

WHEREAS, Peter Duncan traveled the world far and'vide from his birthplace in northern England, via South
!.Africa and Hawaii, before finding his true home in Contra Costa County and settling into the Pleasant
Hill BART Station area with his [\vife�Udith in 1979; and
WHEREAS, Peter Duncan,after becoming a United States Citizen in 1985, began his career as an activist in his
community, deeply engaged in civic affairs. In 1991 lie became secretary of the Walden Association and
lager its president and was, appointed to the Pleasant hill BAR'1' Steering Committee to plan for the
area's future in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Peter Duncan, as Prestdlent .of the.Walden Association and as the Chair of its Greenspace
