RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.), to execute on
behalf hof the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-545-2 with Radiologic Enterprises, Inc.,
(dba Resources On Call), a Corporation, effective June 1, 2006, to amend Contract#26-545 (as amended
by Contract. Amendment Agreement #26-545-1), to increase the total Contract Payment Limit by
$135,000 from $50,000 to a new total'Contract Payment Limit of$185,000, and to extend the term of the
Contract from October 31, 2006 through February 28, 2007.

This Contract is funded by 100% Enterprise I Funds. As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors
will be billed for services.

BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
For in years the County has contracted with registries to provide temporary qualified personnel to
assist the Department during peak workloads,temporary absences and emergency situations.

In December 2005, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed
Contract #26-545 (as amended by' Contract Amendment Agreement #26-545-1) with Radiologic
Enterprises, Inc (dba Resources On ,Call), for the period from November 1, 2005 through October 31,
2006, to provide temporary diagnostic imaging staff including, but not limited to, radiologic
technologists, mammographers and magnetic resonance imagining technologists to work as temporary
employees to provide vacation, sick leave, and extended leave relief for County-employed physicians at
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. The Diagnostic Imaging Department is currently short three (3)
full time employees due to maternitylleave and long-term medical leave.
Appr I val of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-545-2 will allow the Contractor to provide additional
temporary diagnostic imaging staff at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, through February 28,
2007
