IN THE DISTRICT III SUPERVISOR'S OFFICE

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20102 to increase the hours of one Board of Supervisors
General Office position from part time (20/40) to full time, and decrease the hours of one Board of
Supervisors General Secretary position from part time (32/40) to part time (16/40) in the District III
Supervisor's Office, as requested by Supervisor Piepho.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Board of Supervisors has authorized six full time equivalent(FTE) staff for the District III
Supervisor's Office. The recommended action brings the total authorized staff hours to 240 (or six
FTE positions) and is within the authorized and budgeted allocation.
BACKGROUND:
Supervisor Piepho is reorganizing her offices to meet current needs. The present configuration of
authorized positions does not accommodate the manner in which she wishes to deploy staff. It is,
therefore, recommended that the authorized hours of one or more positions be adjusted within the
FTE limit established by the Board of Supervisors for District III to accommodate the Supervisors
staffing requirements. Additional requests may be forthcoming as new staff is selected.
