Future California Supreme Court Justice, Joseph B Croci '-fi—epresented Soto through the legal steps required to confirm the grant. For his legal}work, Crockett r'ecelved 1}800 acres of land; and a '� t$ " r p 3 i ♦s x ub a WHEREAS, In 1867 Thomas.Edwardshat the invitation of his friend°Joseph,G-fd6kett,relocated to the Carquinez Strait to become Crockett g partner in the operation of a grain and cattle farm on the south shore of q �, ,to u ttI� ... the Strait. Tom and Mary Edwards; with thetr_fiye sons and one daughter, constructed a.house on an Indian Mound on the shore of the Carquinez Strait.
