(District 11) [CDD-CP#06=60] Project Nos. 0672-6R6147; 0672-6R6150 DATE: August 8, 2006 PAGE: 2 of 2 FISCAL IMPACT: The project will not impact General Funds. The estimated project cost is$185,000 and it will be funded entirely by road funds. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: The purpose of the project is to repair oiling roadway sections along Alhambra Valley Road that resulted from heavy rains in winter 2006. The proposed project consists of repair to two sections of roadway. The first section will require constructing a short retaining wall and backfilling between the wall and the edge of the roadway to bring the failed road shoulder back up to the appropriate elevation. Once the roadbed has been reestablished, the road will be repaved to conform to the rest of the existing roadway. The second section will require recreating the shoulder through the installation of additional earthen fill and riprap to protect the recreated shoulder and replacing the failed chain-link fencing. The project is located in the Central County area near Martinez. The project consists of repair to an existing facility and does not entail expansion of the facility. The project will not result in the removal of any scenic resource. CONSEOUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of construction and may jeopardize funding. I
