RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RESOLUTION NO. 2006/500
THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
NOAH BRa`IEGMANN TO
THE SPORT OF ROWING
WHEREAS, Noah Bruegmann began rowing with the Oakland Strokes in 2001 at the age of 13
because it was the hardest sport he could find and by his own account he was easily the smallest and
youngest member of the novice squad that won two bronze medals in the first novice eight and the
freshman eight at the Southwest Regional Junior Rowing Championships; and
WHEREAS, !at the beginning of his second year Noah Bruegmann quickly.moved on to the varsity
squad, experiencing a crew where everyone had a new level of dedication to moving a boat as fast as
possible; and
WHEREAS, Noah Bruegmann served asi co-captain of the squad during his senior year, winning
Head of the American and placing third at Head of the Lake. As an individual he went on to win silver
in the Junior Men's Lightweight division at the 2006 C.R.A.S.H.-B World Indoor Rowing
Championships.

RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RESOLUTION NO. 2006/501
THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
TARYN O'CONNELL
TO THE SPORT OF ROWING
WHEREAS, Taryn O'Connell began rowing in 2002 at the age of 14 for the Oakland Strokes and
went on to; receive the 2004 Most Improved award and the 2006 Most Inspirational.award; and
WHEREAS, Taryn O'Connell and her teammates have successfully competed in various national
events including winning bronze in the senior four, placing second in the elite/open four at the 2006
USRowing National Championships, winning gold in the eight and four with coxswain at the 2006
USRowing Southwest Regional Championships and winning gold in the eight at the 2004 and 2005
USRowing Youth National Championships; and
WHEREAS, the Oakland Strokes �demonstrated .. preeminence by winning international events
including the Peabody Cup at the 2005 and::2.006Heiley+`Wotne-n s Regatta, winning gold in the eight
