Against Domestic Violence in the amount of$250,000 for Domestic Violence services. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Interim Employment and Human Services Interim Director, or designee, to execute a contract with STAND! Against Domestic Violence in the amount of$250,000 for Domestic Violence services for the period July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. (Budgeted: 60% Ca1WORKs Single Allocation (20% County; 40% State; 40%Federal); 40%Zero Tolereance for Domestic Violence.) (All Districts) FINANCIAL, IMPACT: $250,000: $150,000 CalWORKs,Single Allocation; 20% County; 40% State; 40% Federal $100,000 County costs as authorized by Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports all five of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"4) "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing" 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families." BACKGROUND: This Board Order will authorize Employment and Human Services Department(EHSD) to continue services provided by STAND! for FY 2006-07. Stand! will provide a wide array of domestic violence services, tailored to meet the specific needs of the Workforce Services Bureau. Services include Ca1WORKs domestic violence liaisons at four Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) offices located in Antioch, Martinez, Richmond, and Hercules; technical assistance, consultation, and domestic violence identification and skills training; on-site capacity building and linkage of domestic violence victims to community resources. STAND! will develop and provide Limited English Proficiency(LEP) outreach services to the Asian-speaking community.
