SUBJECT: Approve Novation Contract#28-501-15 with Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District C
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, MD) to
execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract#28-501-15 with Pleasant Hill Recreation
and Park District, a public Agency, to pay County an amount not to exceed $9,800, to provide
congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1,
2006 through June 30, 2007. This Novation Contract includes a three-month automatic
extension through September 30, 2007, in an amount not to exceed $2,450.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County cost.
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides an average of 50
congregate meals per day, five days per week for senior citizens at the Pleasant Hill Senior
Center.
On October 18, 2005, the Board of Supervisors.approved Novation Contract #28-50144, with
Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30,
2006 (which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2006) for
the provision of congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #28-501-15 will replace the automatic extension under the prior
Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2007.

RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, MD) to
execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #28-530-13 with the City of San Ramon,
a public Agency, to pay County an amount not to exceed $11,000, to provide congregate meal
services for County's Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2006 through June
30, 2007. This Novation Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through
September 30, 2007, in an amount not to exceed$2,750.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County funds are required.
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides an average of 40
congregate meals per day, four days per week for senior citizens at the San Ramon Senior
Center, and 30 home delivered meals per day to senior citizens in the San Ramon area.
On October 11, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract#28-530-12 with
the City of San Ramon, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 (which
included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2006) for the provision
of congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract#28-530-13 will replace the automatic extension under the prior
Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2007.

2005 through June 30, 2006 (which included a three-month automatic extension through
September 30, 2006 for the provision of congregate meal services for County's Senior
Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #28-541-13 will replace the automatic extension under the
prior Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30,
2007.

2006 through June 30, 2007. This Novation Contract includes a three-month automatic
extension through September 30,2007, in an amount not to exceed $3,200.

This Contract meets the social needs of County's population by providing an average of 250
meals per week, for senior citizens at the Golden Rain Dining Room in Walnut Creek.
On July 12, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #28-644-5 with
Golden Rain Foundation, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 (which
included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2006) for the provision
of congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract#28-644-6 will replace the automatic extension under the prior
Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2007.

three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2006) for the provision of
congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #29-285-23 will replace the automatic extension under the
prior Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30,
2007.
