IN THE MATTER OF DECLARING RESOLUTION NO. 2005/544
SEPTEMBER 2005 NATIONAL ALCOHOL
AND DRUG ADDICTION RECOVERY MONTH
WHEREAS, substance use disorders are a serious and treatable health problem, and as many as 63
percent of Americans say that addiction to alcohol or other drugs has had an impact on them at
some point in their lives,whether it was the addiction of a friend or family member or another
experience, such as their own personal addiction;and
WHEREAS, assessing our citizens needs for add ctio .tre................
atment and referring them to appropriate

realize that recovery is possible and.treatment is effect-we;:end: ...
WHEREAS,barriers to accessing treatment programs that`canhelp-heal lues, f�rriihes, and our
community are.a significant problem for our neighbors, fends,. : o v�crkers, and family members
with substance use disorders; and
WHEREAS, community members seeking treatment deserve affordable,�x�;diV1dualized t-eatment

this County and celebrates the: remendous stades taken . indiv dhals who have undergone
successful treatment and recognizes those:u the tte thient field rho have dedicated their lives to
helping people recover from::their addc#ons :�XTe encourage all members of our community to
embrace this year's theme"Join the Voices for Recovery, Healing Lives, Families and
Communities" by participating in National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month
Activities.
