HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08092005 - PR.1 �j v IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 2005/498 HONORING THE RETIREMENT OF OFFICER CLIFF KROEGER WHEREAS, Officer Cliff Kroeger began service to the California Highway Patrol on April 25, 1968,after having entered the California Highway Patrol Academy on January 3, 1968; and WHEREAS, Upon graduation from the Academy, Officer K.roeger was assigned to the Oakland Area Office as a traffic officer on April 25, 1968;and WHEREAS,After serving for approximately four yews in Oaklands Officer 1<-toe er voluntarily g transferred to the Contra Costa Area Office on-Ma f ch 30, 1972' ' nd WHEREAS, During his f ist 'years in Contra Costa County, Off,cer K.roeget s ent most of his time On p road patrol in both the East and Central portions of the County afid subsea Y uentl developed and q served as the Area's first Felony follow-up officer in 1981; and WHEREAS; Officer Kroeger also served as the Contra Costa Are��s collision Investi .tion expert, reviewing..reports and assisting with the investigative procedures''l~o major collisions within the { Count��. He returned to road patrol in 1990 and then retur# ed to sv�its the Public Affairs Officer in 1992 ; and WHEREAS, While suing as the:Area's Public Affairs Officer, Cliff has touched the homes of thousands of citizens,young a ct old, throughout the coinmunity. He has received ri n emus letters Of recognitiO l from otig.aril afions;groups and schools who have all pra[se 'l is dedicated work; and WHEREAS; OfficeK r roeger helped;form the Stafe Route Tisk `orce enils d Elie Vasco Road Safety Task Force to address the_traffic safety concerns Along V §W Roads .as as State Route 4, and helped .. to reduce die num er of injury 6didents by 62 percent. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa Couri :..
