SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the County Probation Officer to sign a contract between the. County and the
Children ' s Home Society for "Youth Crisis Services" for the period November 1 , 1984 to
June 30, 1985, subject to a payment limit of $193,648.
BACKGROUND
The above contract is a continuation of services that have been provided to status
offenders by the Children' s Home Society. These services include providing emergency
short-term shelter care and crisis counseling to youngsters coming within the provisions
of Section 601 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, and temporary residential care at
the Sherman House facility in Pleasant Hill (for up to six youngsters) and a Direct
Delivery Foster Home (two beds)--in')Wi6st County.
