The local Workforce Development Board is mandated by the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA). Costs of advertisement for new appointees will be funded through WIA funds. BACKGROUND! The following WDB member submitted her resignation to the WDB in accordance with section 117(b)(2)(A)(ii) of the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998. Ms. Sebera as a One-Stop Mandated Partner(Seat#8)has resigned her Job Corps position to pursue other interests(see attached). Mr. Lattimore as a Business Representative(Seat#1)has been requested by the WDB to resign as he has exceeded the number of allowed unexcused meeting absences as set forth in the WDB Bylaws. The Workforce;Investment Act(WIA)and the State Workforce Investment Board(SWIB) set membership standards for local Workforce Development Boards(WDBs). The Workforce Development Board works with a broad range of business,education, labor,public agencies and community-based organizations to recruit highly qualified nominees for appointment to the Board. All nominees will meet the strict criteria set forth in the Workforce Investment Act. Nominees will be forwarded to the Internal Operations Committee following WDB endorsement.
