SUBJECT: Approve and Authorize the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a Contract Amendment with
Andrew Galvan.
DATE: AUGUST 3, 2004
PAGE: 2 of 2
Ill. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
A. The archeological and excavation monitoring contract provides funds for a monitor to observe
all excavation work performed in conjunction with the Drainage Area 67 Rossmoor Basin
Expansion project, as required by CEQA. This includes monitoring excavation during the
archeological mitigation activities and during basin construction.
B. The scope of the archeological mitigation work increased, and additional archeological and
excavation monitoring time was required. Because of the expanded mitigation, insufficient
budget remains to fully fund monitoring activities during construction.
G. Approval of this amendment will provide budget for approximately 60 days of construction
monitoring.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Non-concurrence of the above recommendation will result in insufficient available funds to fully
fund monitoring activities as required by CEQA.
