FISCAL IMPACT: These Contracts are funded by 49% State and 51%Federal FFP Medi-Cal Funds. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On January 14, 1997, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 497/17, authorizing the Health Services Director to contract With the State Department of Mental Health to assume responsibility for 'Medi-Cal mental health specialty services. Responsibility for outpatient mental health specialty services involves contracts With individual, group and organizational providers to deliver these services. FISCAL ACT This Contract is included in the Department's Enterprise I budget. Linen rental services for the hospital and clinics has been provided under contract since 1984. On September 25, 2001, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #2662444 with Sodexho-Marriott Management Services (dba Lohmar), for the period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2004, for the provision of linen rental services, including delivery of clean garments and other linen items and pick- up ickup of soiled linen for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers. Approval of Contract #26.244-5 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers through June 30, 2007. FISOL IMPACT This Contract. is Funded by in the Health Services Department Enterprise I budget. l: R Ig For several years the County has contracted with nursing registries to provide temporary licensed nursing personnel to assist Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and the Contra Costa Health Centers during peak loads, temporary absences, and emergency situations. There continues to be a nationwide nursing shortage, and in spite of persistent efforts to recruit nurses, the Department has experienced difficulty in filling vacant positions. Therefore, the Department has had to rely heavily on the registry services in order to provide quality nursing care for patients. Can July 3, 2003, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-260 -11 with Preferred Staffing, Inc. , for the period from August 1, 2003 through July 31, 2004, for the provision of nursing registry services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers .
