SUBJECT: Approve and Authorize Acceptance of Payment and Execution of Quitclaim Deed (222 Portola
Drive,Danville
SPECIFIC REQLEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
j, lRecommendpd Action:
A. APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Community Development Department to accept payment in the
amount of$29,796 from..Kaoru Amy Hatsushi; and
B. AUTHORIZE the Community Development Department Director to execute a quitclaim deed on
behalf of the County releasing all of the County's right, title and interest in the property located at
222 Portola Drive, Danville, and deliver the quitclaim deed into escrow with Placer Title Company
in Pleasanton, California.
II. Financial Tmnaet:
The Community Development Department will receive the sum of$29,796, which the department intends
to use to further the goals of the County's affordable housing program.
M. Reasons for_Recommendations and Raekgraund:
The County has agreed to settle its claim against Ms. Hatsushi arising as a result of Ms. Hatsushi's breach
of the Buyer's Purchase Agreement she signed when she purchased the property located at 222 Portola
Drive in Danville. Under the terms of the settlement, Ms. Hatsushi will pay the County the sum of$29,796
and the County will execute a quitclaim deed releasing all of its right,title and interest in the property.
IV. Consequences of Negativ . Action:
The County will be unable to complete the settlement previously approved by the Board.
