Berry, AICP, Director of Community Development DATE: August 5, 2003 SUBJECT: Ashby Lumber Company, Hookston Station Area, Pleasant Hill SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS: RATIFY the Redevelopment Director? execution of a Lease Termination Agreement with Ashby Lumber Company, Inc. for the County property at 230 Hookston Road, Pleasant Hill effective August 4, 2003. FISCAL IMPACT: None. Lease revenues accrued to the Redevelopment Agency. This termination is expected and planned for. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: Effective January 1, 2002 the County and Ashby Lumber Company, Inc. entered into a month-to-month lease for County property in the Hookston Station Area referred to as 230 Hookston Road. Ashby Lumber Company has substantially completed its move to Concord, and will be terminating the lease without the required 30-day notice, therefore a Lease Termination Agreement was recommended by County Counsel. The Agreement was executed prior to August 4, 2003 due to constraints on the availability of Ashby principals.
