SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
1. APPROVE an Amendment to Lease with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Pittsburg,
for the premises at 415 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, occupied by the Employment and Human
Services Department -Workforce Investment Board (WIB), to add a termination clause.
2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to EXECUTE the Amendment to
Lease on behalf of the County.
FINANCIAL. IMPACT
This Amendment will allow the County to terminate the Lease upon completion of the remodeling of.
the County owned building at 4545 Delta Fair Blvd., Antioch for WIB.
BACKGROUND
A portion of the first floor of the County owned building located at 4545 Delta Fair Blvd., Antioch will
be remodeled for the permanent WIB One Stop Employment Center. This Amendment to Lease will
give the County the right to terminate the Lease at any time after March 1, 2005, when it is
anticipated the remodeling at the 4545 Delta Fair facility will be completed.

AMENDMENT TO LEASE
FOR.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY EMPLOYMENT AND HUMAN SERVICES
415 RAILROAD AVENUE
PITTSBURG,CALIFORNIA
SECTION A: BASIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. PARTIES: Effective on AUG 0 5 2003 , the REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF PITTSBURG, a public body, corporate and politic, hereinafter called "LESSOR", and the COUNTY
OF CONTRA COSTA, a political subdivision of the State of California, hereinafter called "COUNTY",
mutually agree and promise as follows:
2. PURPOSE: The parties desire to amend that Lease entered into between COUNTY and LESSOR
dated March 5, 2002 for premises described as approximately 7,000 gross square feet of office space on
the first floor of the building located at 415 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, California, together with non-
exclusive use of the parking lot adjacent to the building,to add a termination clause.
3. AMENDMENT: The following shall be added as Paragraph C.5.:
C.5. TERMINATION: COUNTY shall have the right to terminate this Lease at any time after
March 1, 2005 by giving LESSOR sixty(60) days prior written notice.
4. EFFECT: Except for the Amendment agreed to herein, the Lease of March 5, 2002 remains in
full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed the Amendment to Lease as of the day and year first
written above.
