FISCAL IMPACT: This Agreement is funded 50% by Federal Medi-Cal Funds, 47% by State EPSDT funds, and 3%by Mental Health Realignment. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School": "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale(CAFAS). Can February 25, 2003, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-193 with Mount Diablo Unified School District, for the period from July 1, 20012 through June 30, 2003 for the provision of wraparound services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children and their families. Approval of Interagency Agreement #74-193-1 will allow Agency to continue providing services through June 30,2004. This Contact includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2004 , in an amount not to exceed $180, 073 . FISCAL IMPACT This Contract is 50% Federal Medi- Cal and 500-. State EPSDT funded. The Contractor will bill Medi-Cal through the current County system under the Rehabilitation Option for all eligible services, and the Federal Financial Participation will accrue to the County. On July 23 , 2002 , the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24893-6 with Lincoln Child Center, for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, to provide day treatment services for a Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) youth. Approval of Contract #24-893-7 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2004 . Diablo High School, for the period from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004 . FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 37a by Federal FFP and 63' by Mental Health Realignment (partially offset by third party billing) . On July 23, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-778-10 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #24-778-11) , with FamiliesFirst, Inc. , for the period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002 (with a six- month automatic extension through December 31, 2003) , for the provision of Intensive Day Treatment and Mental Health ,Services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) Children at Mt . Diablo High School . Approval of Contract #24-778-12 replaces the six-month automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2004 . FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by the Health Services Department ' s Enterprise I . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : For several years the County has contracted with nursing registries to provide temporary licensed nursing personnel to assist Centra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers during peak loads, temporary absences and emergency situations in critical areas. There is a nationwide nursing shortage, and in spite of persistent efforts to recruit nurses, the Department has experienced great difficulty in filling any vacant positions . Therefore, the Department has had to rely heavily on the registry services in order to provide quality nursing care for patients . On March 25, 2003 , the Hoard of Supervisors approved Contract #26-374-- 5 with STAT Nursing Services, for the period from April 1, 2003 through March 31, 2004, to provide nursing registry services . Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-374-6 will allow the Contractor to provide additional nursing coverage services, including Sexual. Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) services, through March 31, 2004 .
