(P-300#19567 and#19569) FISCAL IMPACT: Cost of additional positions offset with FQHC revenues, ether position cancellations and reduction in overtime and registry usage. BACKGRE)U'NDIREASON S FOR RECOMMENDATIONM: : The Ambulatory Care Department will soon be expanding clinic services at both the Concord and the Antioch Health Centers. This is in part due to the population growth of our traditional clientele in these areas, as well as the loss of some health plan community provider physicians. The number of low income families has dramatically increased in these areas of the County, and currently these families are having to travel longer distances to receive their care. This expansion will allow them to receive care closer to their home. The cost of these additional positions will be offset with FQHC revenues, other position cancellations and a reduction in overtime and registry usage. (Specifically we are adding the 5 Certified Medical Assistants to provide support to the clinical teams.) The Department will also realize a savings from this expansion, as we will not have to send patients outside the systems for needed services.
