HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07222003 - C.28-C.32 TO: BOARD of SUPERVISORS William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Contra By: Ginger Marieiro, Contracts Administrator Costa DATE: July 9, 2003 County SUBJECT., Approval of Novation Contract#28-501-12 with Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECCIMMENDATION(SI: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.) to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract#28-501-12 with Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District, in an amount not to exceed $7,800, to provide congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2004. FISCAL IMPACT: No County cost is included. RACKGRC}UfilD/REASONN FOR RECOMMENDATION SI: This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides an average of 50 meals per day, five days per week, for senior citizens at Pleasant Hill Senior Center. On May 21, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract#28-501-11 with Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District, for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 (which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2003) for the provision of congregate meal services for County's Senior Nutrition Program. Approval of Novation Contract #28-501-12 will replace the three-month automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2004. This Contract includes a four-month automatic extension through October 31, 2004 . FISCAL IMPACT: No County cost is included. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County' s population in that it provides an average of 30 congregate meals per day, two days per week for senior citizens at the San Ramon Senior Center, and 15 home delivered meals per day, to senior citizens in the San Ramon area. On June 25, 2002 the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #28-530-9 with the City of San Ramon for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 (which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2003) for the provision of congregate and home-delivered meal services for County' s Senior Nutrition Program. Approval of Novation Contract #28- 530-10 will replace the three- month automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2004 .
