SUBJECT: Execute a contract with Engeo Incorporated to conduct a geotechnical investigation of the Oakley
and Trembath Basins,Antioch area.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to execute a contract with Engeo Incorporated, in the
amount of$66,947 effective September 10, 2002 through November 30, 2003, to conduct geotechnical
investigation of the Oakley and Trembath Basins in the Antioch area.
II. Financial Impact:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. The consulting services contract will be paid for by
Drainage Area 56 funds.

III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The existing Oakley Basin is being considered for expansion, and the Trembath Basin is in the planning
stages. Engeo Incorporated will be aiding in the project planning,design and construction for the facilities.
The consultant will also be preparing the summary required to secure State Division of Dam Safety approval
for the Trembath Basin.
IV. Conseauences of Negative Action:
Negative action will result in the delay of project planning, design and construction for this project.
