The checklist asks whether each jurisdiction has met the following requirements of the CMP: • Participation in multi-jurisdictional planning activities of the Regional Transportation Planning Committees (RTPC's) • Attainment of the CMP's traffic Level of Service standards within the jurisdiction; • Adoption and implementation of a Transportation Demand Management Ordinance; and • Evaluation of the impacts of land use decisions on the transportation system. Each jurisdiction is directed to submit their completed checklist first to their council or board for approval by a majority vote. Upon the council or board's approval the checklist is then transmitted to the Authority by December 1, 2002. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Failure to approve the Transportation Water and Infrastructure Committees recommendation will cause the County to be out of compliance with the CMP, cause the State to withhold the County's allocation of gas tax revenues under Section 2105 of the Streets and Highways Code, lead to a reduction in road maintenance projects in unincorporated areas, and may prevent the use of future federal and state transportation revenues in the unincorporated area.
