This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2003 in an amount not to exceed$1,600,000. FISCAL IMMAC'.T: This Contract is 50.35%Federally funded and 49.65% State funded. No County Funds are required. BAC"KGRCIITIMIREASON(S)FOR REC OMMF.NDATIC)NUS): On August 14, 2001, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-979-5 with Addiction Research and Treatment, Inc., dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment (BAART) for the period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2002, to provide methadone treatment services through its Methadone Maintenance Clinics Program(Medi-Cal Drug Abuse Treatment Services)in Bast and West County. These methadone maintenance treatment services are mandated under Sobsky v. Smoley. July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003. FISC.A1.T ACT: Approoval of this agreement by the State will result in an amount not to exceed $135,000 of State funding for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project for FY 2002-2003. Standard Agreement #29-392-19 continues State funding for Medical Disaster Planning Project services through June 30, 2003, and allows staff to enhance the County's disaster preparedness by improving coordination between counties, cities, hospitals, Emergency Medical Services agencies and the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, in the event of an earthquake or other disaster. Five sealed/certified copies of this Board Carder should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the State Emergency Medical Services Authority.
