The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows (omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance Code): SECTION I: Section 33-5.407 of the County Ordinance Code is repealed. Its provision is being added to Section 33-5.387 of the County Ordinance Code. SECTION IT. Section 33-5.387 of the County Ordinance Code is amended to change titles of previously excluded classifications, exclude the employment and human services director of administration-exempt from the merit system, eliminate the classification of assistant county social service director-exempt, and consolidate all employment and human services department classifications into one section, to read: 33-5.387 Employment and Human Services. (a) The employment and human services department director-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the board of supervisors. (b) The workforce investment board executive director-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the employment and human services department director. (c) The workforce services director-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the employment and human services department director. (d) The aging and adult services director-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the employment and human services department director. (e) The children and family services director-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the employment and human services department director. (f)The employment and human services director of administration-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the employment and human services department director. (g) The social service public information officer-exempt is excluded, and is appointed by the employment and human services department director. The employment and human services department director is the statutory county ORDINANCE NO. 2002-22 welfare director. This ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage, and within 15 days of passage shall be published once with the names of the supervisors voting for and against it in the Contra.
