BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RBC(JMMBNDATIONS
In February 2002 the Redevelopment Agency entered into a $17,000 contract for urban
design services related to the development on the BART property at the Pleasant Hill BART
Station and the residential reuse of the Las Juntas Swim Club. The urban design services
are necessary to fully implement the Pleasant Hill BART Property Codes and related
documents as they were accepted by the Board of Supervisors on December 18, 2001. In
addition the preparation of site plans, architectural elevations, and urban design work for the
Las Juntas Swim Club were needed to complete the community outreach related to the
initiative of acquiring the subject property. The time and materials required to these
initiatives fully require an increase in the contract amount to $42,040 as recommended.
