SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #26-379-2 with Fernando Garcia (dba Life
Saver Education)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Frank Puglisi, Jr. ) , to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-379-2 with Fernando Garcia (dba Life Saver Education) for the
period from August 1, 2001 through July 31, 2002 , in an amount not to
exceed $30, 000, for the instruction of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) courses for selected Contra Costa Regional Medical Center staff .
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Contract is included in the Health Services
Department ' s Enterprise I budget .
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROU]ND:
On August 15, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-379-
1 with Fernando Garcia dba Life Saver Education for the provision of
instruction of American Heart Association-approved CPR courses
including, but not limited to, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac
Life Support and Advanced Pediatric Cardiac Life Support Courses for
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center staff, through July 31 , 2001 .
Approval of Contract #26-379-2 will allow the Contractor to continue
to provide services through July 31, 2002 .
